Classes are available to children ages 4 & up. Although children of any age will be welcome to attend any week, we will be grouping like aged kids as shown by dates and those ages will be prioritized on those dates. We will reserve the right to decide per individual basis whether each child would be safe appropriate for each weekly session. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause, but it is structured this way for the safety and well-being of the children in attendance.
Parents, you are responsible for all food and beverage needs for your children each day. Please, let us know any special needs that your children may have and notify us of any allergies your child has. We sometimes can secure snacks or drinks but
need to be informed about all health or diet concerns.
Our program is a hands-on educational experience to give beginner and intermediate riders the skills they need to be safe and effective horsemen. SAFETY and FUN is our priority and we give the children a well-rounded experience that teaches them safety from the ground to the saddle. They will learn proper handling, leading, tying, grooming, and tacking up of the horse. We would like them to understand that riding starts on the ground and the relationship they create before they ride can enhance the horse’s performance under saddle.
Our program is staffed with safe and experienced lesson ponies and horses, as many assistants as needed, and professional riding instructors with over 30 years’ experience. Children are not let off the lead-line until they can demonstrate basic control and competence. We allow each child to progress at their individual level so that they are neither rushed nor bored. After riding the children will learn how to
un-tack and responsibly care for their mounts before they are fed and returned
to their stalls or pastures.
Parents are always welcome to observe. We encourage you to visit our facility prior to registering so that we may give you a tour and we can meet you personally. Ask as many questions as you need to feel comfortable in entrusting the care and safety of your children to us!
We will not ride in inclement weather. We will retreat indoors and spend the time learning about horses through videos, worksheets, or discussions.
